Prerequisites

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner
  • 6+ months of FinOps work experience 
  • As of date exam + training will cost 3,750 USD

How to Prepare

To become a FinOps Certified Professional, you must: 

  • Gain proficiency in cloud computing fundamentals, familiarize yourself with your cloud provider’s essential services and typical applications, and grasp the basics of billing and pricing models.
  • Articulate the fundamental advantages of cloud computing and comprehend the central concept of employing a pay-as-you-go consumption model.
  • Acquire foundational expertise in one of the three primary public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Attend two live sessions. 
  • Participate as a member of the FinOps Foundation community.

  • Building, managing, and evolving a FinOps team 
  • FinOps strategy 
  • FinOps for containers 
  • ITAM integration 
  • FinOps for serverless 

The self-paced modules cover the following topics: 

  • FinOps fundamentals 
  • The FinOps lifecycle 
  • FinOps principles and capabilities 
  • FinOps tools and techniques 

About The Exam

To become a FinOps Certified Professional, you must: 

  • Attend two live sessions. 
  • Complete required self-paced modules. 
  • Successfully pass the Certified Professional exam. 
  • Fulfill service and content contribution requirements. 

The FinOps Certified Professional exam is a 2-hour, 60-question multiple-choice exam. The passing score is 70%.

The service and content contribution requirements are designed to ensure that FPCs are active participants in the FinOps community. These requirements include: 

  • Participating in the FinOps Slack community 
  • Writing blog posts or articles about FinOps 
  • Giving presentations about FinOps
